Visual Storyboard: Online Safety Education for Teens

Overview

This visual storyboard translates the Online Safety Education for Teens design plan into a screen-by-screen eLearning blueprint, mapping the learner experience across 17 screens from the course title, welcome, instructions, objectives, and menu to Module 1 content, practice activities, knowledge check, and summary.

Purpose / Intended Audience

This storyboard was created to plan a self-paced online safety course for teens before development, helping organize content, narration, visuals, navigation, and interactions in a way that supports learners as they recognize online risks and make safer digital decisions.

Process

I converted the instructional design plan into a clear screen sequence and planned what learners would see, hear, click, and practice on each screen, including click-to-reveal activities, scenario pop-ups, red flag identification, decision scenarios, and knowledge checks with feedback.

Outcome

The final storyboard serves as a development-ready blueprint for building the course in Storyline 360 or another eLearning tool, showing my ability to move from broad instructional planning to a detailed learner experience design.

Design Reflection

The main challenge was translating a broad course plan into a detailed screen-by-screen experience while maintaining a clear learning flow. Planning the narration, visuals, interactions, and feedback before development helped me identify gaps and make adjustments early. This reinforced the value of storyboarding as both a planning and decision-making tool.
